WTFAQ's

Do I have to send you my current steering wheel?

Nope! We have steering wheel cores for every car out there. You won't have to go without your car or source a spare wheel and send it to us. Just go about your day and we will send you the new wheel to swap out.

Is my new steering wheel handmade?

Yes. Our team handcrafts any steering wheel design our customer wants. Even the wheels we have in stock are handmade. Our warehouse is located in Meridian, ID and we ship our wheels nationwide.

When I custom order do I have to pay for it all upfront?

We always try to put ourselves in the customer's shoes. They take a bit of time to build out so we don't make you part with all your cash upfront to get it started.​

​Unlike other wheel makers, we only ask for 50% down to start your order. If you choose to build your own using our options picker online, you will be required to pay in full.

With either choice you choose, we will contact you back personally to ensure your exact specs are perfect before we start production.

When your steering wheel is completed we will send pictures for your approval. Upon approval, we will require final payment, and then it'll be shipped out to you.

Can I install it myself or do you help me?

We highly recommend you going to a profession mechanic or your local car shop to get it done. For a warranty claim, we will require proof of install by a mechanic. Of course, you can give it a go yourself as there are tons of YouTube videos out there for most cars.

We like to recommend hiring a mobile mechanic that will come out to your house to install for simple logistics and convenience. You should have quite a few options in your area for this service. It's not hard for those who tinker with cars... BUT we do not take part in the install process directly.

If I order custom... How long does it take to arrive to me?

This varies a bit. Some variables come into play, like:

- How intense your custom built is...
(Some of the options take little bit more time to create. Timing in minimal... maybe a day or two difference it all.)

​- What our work load is currently at when you order...
(We'll give you better idea when we confirm you specs with you.)

- Material availability...
(We typically always have everything in stock, but will let you know if we are waiting on anything before we start.)

​Overall, it takes anywhere from 30-45 days to finish the built and another week or less for shipping. You can check in anytime you want... just shoot us an email: Hey@HandcraftedCarbon.com 

How does the ordering process happen?

Easy!

1) You click one of the big yellow buttons on this page.
​2) Design it online and pay OR you can request to design it with our in-house guys.
​3) With either choice you choose... We'll contact you and double check we are 100% on the same page before we start.
4) If you pay online, you're good to go. If you choose to work with our team, we can offer 50% down to get it started.
5) And then? Well... we get to work on your new custom wheel, we'll send some final build pics when it's  done. If all looks good? We'll send it your way.

How do I know you're legit?

You don’t, I suppose.

I mean, maybe we faked every picture above, have fake guys consulting you on your new custom wheel, and build this site 'just cuz'.

However.

You pay us with a major credit card, right?

Visa, MasterCard, Chase, American Express, Discover, Capital One?

Dude, do you really think THEY don’t protect you?

What kinda warranty do I get on my new custom wheel?

We pride ourselves in quality and proudly stand behind each and every customers new racing wheel. This is why we have the industry leading 6 month warranty.

Most of the others others online only offer 2 weeks or so. We don't feel like that is enough time to really make sure there are no issues from our build.

As long as the wheel was installed by a professional, we'll take care of you if the wheel has any early wear and tear. If, in the rare case, this does happen (because, ya know, shit happens) we will provide a full refund or order you a brand new wheel to replace!

Can I refund my new wheel if I never used it?

Yes, all good. We get it. You may have found another one, sold your car, or the wife is on your ass for buying too much car stuff. As long as it was NOT installed on the vehicle and in original packaging you can return it for a full refund. We require detailed pictures of the wheel and compare them to our original pictures before it was shipped to ensure it was not damaged while in your possession. The only extra cost you will be required to pay is for shipping back to us.

​We always waive the dumb restocking fee... cuz, like, it takes 2 minutes to put it on a shelf, right? I hate being nickel and dimed and I'm sure you do too.

Nothin'! We only specialize in custom, handcrafted, racing steering wheel build outs. We prefer being the best at ONE thing, taking care of our customers, and providing A+ quality.
